I’ve noticed that when respiratory effort is specifically dictated, Talkatoo often recognizes it but does not include it in the Objective Respiratory section. It may leave it out of Objective completely or move it into the Assessment instead.
For example, if I dictate:
“Respiratory rate is 36 breaths per minute. Respiratory effort is moderately increased. Lung sounds are clear bilaterally with no crackles or wheezes.”
The note may come back as:
Respiratory Rate: 36
Respiratory: Clear bilaterally, no crackles or wheezes
while “moderately increased respiratory effort” appears only in the Assessment.
I’ve seen this happen even when using the default “Respiratory System” label and after adding template instructions telling Talkatoo to preserve respiratory effort in the Objective section.
It would be helpful if respiratory effort were consistently treated as part of the respiratory exam and kept in the Respiratory field along with lung sounds.
Ideal output:
Respiratory: Moderately increased respiratory effort; lungs clear bilaterally; no crackles or wheezes.
This would make the generated medical record more accurate and reduce the need for manual cleanup before copying it into AVImark.
