Unfortunately, much of the time the patient name is wrong or at least misspelled. Perhaps in anticipation of this, I don't enunciate the name naturally, and the name spelling is worse! In settings, you can specify to refer to the patient as "the patient", not by name. This setting works when I use the SOAP option. This setting doesn't apply to SIMPLE SOAP and you end up spending considerable time correcting the spelling or repacing the name with "he" or "she", whichever is quiker.
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry to hear the patient name is being misspelled.
Simple SOAP should also have an Anonymize Patient Name option, which replaces the patient’s name with “patient.” If you’re seeing that this works for SOAP but not Simple SOAP, please let us know, as that may be something we need to look into.
We also just released custom instructions for default templates, so another option is to go to Preferences > Default Templates, select Simple SOAP, and add an instruction in the User Instructions field, such as “Do not use the patient’s name. Refer to the pet as ‘the patient’ instead.”
As a backup, you can also use Find and Replace above the note to quickly replace all instances of a misspelled name.
