Master Problems in auto soap

Quick update: if you haven’t seen it yet, this can now be handled with custom instructions for default templates.

You can go to Preferences > Default Templates, select SOAP, and add an instruction in the User Instructions field at the top. For example: “In the Assessment section, include a separate Master Problem List for ongoing diagnoses or chronic problems discussed in the exam, such as heart murmur, neoplasia, osteoarthritis, or other conditions that should be added to the patient’s master problem list.”

This should help address this request and give you more control over how problems are listed in the SOAP without needing a full custom template.

Quick update: we’ve improved the assessment section so it better identifies and lists problems mentioned in the exam. Customizable default SOAP templates should also be available very soon (likely next week), which will allow you to add custom instructions to Auto SOAP and other default notes. This should let you include directions for the assessment to generate a master problem list and/or a general problem list, depending on how you want the output structured.

Thanks for the idea. If we added the ability to include custom instructions in Auto SOAP (and all default notes), would that meet your needs? For example, you could set directions for the assessment to include both a master problem list and a general problem list.
